Give a little love… (Part II)

A couple of days ago I showed you some photos from the Help-Portrait event I participated in last Saturday. Did you miss it? Check it out HERE!

While at the Farmer’s Market, I met a few of the folks from IRC, an organization that does amazing work with refugees who are in need of a little help when starting over.  They were having a Holiday Bazaar that day, where a few of their clients set up booths with items for sale. Also, they were doing a group tour to two restaurants in the area that are owned by their clients. One was Sammoon in El Cajon, where the owner serves up authentic and yummy Iraqi food. The second was Fatuma’s in City Heights, where you feel like you’re welcomed into the owner’s home for a huge family meal! When IRC asked if a photographer would be interested in going along on the tour to document it, I jumped at the chance. So glad that I did!

Here are some shots from that awesome group tour. If you’re in the San Diego area and looking to get to know some international restaurants that you won’t forget, take this tour!! Better yet, just go try these restaurants! The food was soooo yummy 🙂

Stay tuned for Part III of my post, where I show you some shots I took for my new friend, Mary. She’s one of IRC’s clients and brings beautiful items from Kenya to San Diego!
